From Staff Reports

The Bluefield College chapter of the Student Virginia Education Association will sponsor a food and supply drive through the month of November to support Second Chance for Cats.

The student group is collecting cleaning supplies (paper towels, cleaning wipes), cat food and treats (Purina Cat Chow, canned cat food), cat litter, and cat toys. Monetary donations are also accepted.

All donations should be brought to the School of Education offices in the bottom floor of Easley Library by Wednesday, Nov. 30.

Second Chance for Cats located in Bluefield, W.Va. is a nonprofit that seeks to spay or neuter homeless cats and then adopt, relocate, or release the cats. The group’s goal is to reduce the free-roaming cat population in the Bluefield area and to provide ongoing care – including rabies vaccinations, medical treatment, and food – for homeless and neglected cats.
